Welcome to our website

Welcome to our website and to our four churches set in the rolling farmland of the Amber Valley in Derbyshire. The parishes of our four churches lie within the Church of England Diocese of Derby.

We believe we can live out our Christian faith by "working and playing together, with God, for people" - this is the motto of the Amber Churches. To learn more about us and our churches, have a look round our website - and we hope we will be able to greet you soon in person.

Christmas Services

Join us at our Carol Services and other Christmas services; please check the calendar for December (link in the righthand column).

Our Faith - Christianity

Maybe you have questions about what it means to be a Christian - what we believe, how a man called Jesus who died 2000 years ago can be saviour and a friend. Please click on this link to learn more about Christianity.

Our Aim - To Love our Neighbour

If you are in need of practical or emotional support, maybe we can help. Ashover Church has a team ready to listen to you. Love Your Neighbour

Our Lifeline - Prayer

A small group of church members pray regularly in confidence for special concerns and for the community; if you would like prayer for yourself or a situation, please telephone a member of the Ministry Team.

If you would like to see how Christians talk to God through prayer, or get hints on how to set about this, please click on this link.

Prayer of the Month

Lord God, as we get ready for Christmas
when Jesus came as a baby to Mary and Joseph
we ask your blessing on our families.
As the shepherds in the fields came to worship the baby in the manger
we thank you for farmers and workers in our fields.
As the wise men followed the star to find Jesus,
we thank you for wisdom and pray it may be used to good purpose.
As Mary, Joseph and Jesus fled the Promised Land as refugees,
we pray for those who are fleeing wars, unrest, and hardship.
As the angels brought light to the shepherds on the dark hillsides,
we pray that your healing spirit shines on those in need of comfort.
Loving God, we thank you for the warmth of families,
for the wonder of the shepherds,
for the wisdom of the kings,
for the helping hands of angels
and for the joy of Christmas.
