Welcome to our website

Welcome to our website and to our four churches set in the rolling farmland of the Amber Valley in Derbyshire. The parishes of our four churches lie within the Church of England Diocese of Derby.

We believe we can live out our Christian faith by "working and playing together, with God, for people" - this is the motto of the Amber Churches. To learn more about us and our churches, have a look round our website - and we hope we will be able to greet you soon in person.

Our Faith - Christianity

Maybe you have questions about what it means to be a Christian - what we believe, how a man called Jesus who died 2000 years ago can be saviour and a friend. Please click on this link to learn more about Christianity.

Our Aim - To Love our Neighbour

If you are in need of practical or emotional support, maybe we can help. Ashover Church has a team ready to listen to you. Love Your Neighbour

Our Lifeline - Prayer

A small group of church members pray regularly in confidence for special concerns and for the community; if you would like prayer for yourself or a situation, please telephone a member of the Ministry Team.

If you would like to see how Christians talk to God through prayer, or get hints on how to set about this, please click on this link.

Prayer of the Month

A prayer for Advent and Christmas

God of Goodness,

We give you praise for the ordinariness of Christmas -

that the day comes the same as any other day.

We give you praise that there is no sign in the heavens, and no bright star but the light of your presence in the ordinary birth of the child.

We give you praise that unobtrusively you are in the center of human affairs, involved in the struggle of life, and sharing human experience.

We give you praise that out of compassion you take our part, and open to us a new way of life. We pray that this day we shall be able to see its true glory.

Amen.
