Welcome to our website

Welcome to our website and to our four churches set in the rolling farmland of the Amber Valley in Derbyshire. The parishes of our four churches lie within the Church of England Diocese of Derby.

We believe we can live out our Christian faith by "working and playing together, with God, for people" - this is the motto of the Amber Churches. To learn more about us and our churches, have a look round our website - and we hope we will be able to greet you soon in person.

Our Faith - Christianity

Maybe you have questions about what it means to be a Christian - what we believe, how a man called Jesus who died 2000 years ago can be saviour and a friend. Please click on this link to learn more about Christianity.

The Prayer Course

An 8 Weeks Journey to grow and deepen our prayer life, starting on Tuesday 17th September at Ashover Rectory.

If you are interested or would like to know more, please contact Peter Bold

ROAMING THROUGH ROMANS!

When? Wednesdays from 18th September to 20th November – 1.30 to 3.00 – 10 sessions.

Where? St Marks Church, Handley.

The Romans Course has been produced by Andrew Ollerton through The Bible Society.

The apostle Paul wrote an epic letter to the church at Rome, which has transformed many lives.

The video teaching, with discussion time, is pitched at an introductory level so it’s accessible for mature Christians and those new to faith.

Andrew writes ‘Every great adventure has challenging moments. That’s what makes the whole thing so rewarding in the end. Romans may be the Mount Everest of the Bible but trust me, the view will be well worth it!’

Prayer of the Month

Creation Prayer

Creator God

who breathed this world into being,

who is discernible within the harmony of nature,

the perfection of a butterfly's wing,

the grandeur of a mountain range,

the soaring eagle and humming bird,

thank you for this world which you have created.

Thank you for summer sun,

which reminds us that your creative breath is still alive and active.

Thank you for the warmth of your love,

sustaining this world,

your garden

Amen
